Media Literacy opening the minds of every students about Internet. The terms 'media literacy' and 'media education' are used synonymously in most English-speaking nations. Many scholars and educators consider media literacy to be an expanded conceptualization of literacy. In 1993, a gathering of the media literacy community in the United States developed a definition of media literacy as the ability to access, analyze, evaluate and create messages in a wide variety of forms. A lack of education means lack of awareness and that lack of awareness is often perpetuated by the media.
In this seminar RAM page invited the GMA Journalist as a speaker in this seminar. The apeakers are Ms. Edmallyne Remillano a Head Writer, State of the nation with Jessica Soho, secretary and Talent Association of GMA network. The nest speaker is Ms. Jan Meynard Nualla, a Program Producer, Global Conversation on CNN Affiliation, Talents Association of GMA network (TAG), and a Society of Asian Journalist (SAJ). And the last speaker is Ms. Lian Nami Buan, a Associate producer for Segments, State of the nation with Jessica Soho, Associate Editors, Subselfie.com and Talent Association of GMA network.
We've learn a lot from them, and we will also apply this in our lives. Think before we click as what the speakers tell to us, students. They inspired every students as they speak in front, the writers from RAM page and also the writers wanna be.
As the seminar end, we receive a certificate about Media Literacy. I may not a writer but I learn a lot from this topic. It inspire me to read some news and to know about media. I see people working from media, its hard to find news but I know for them they have sources to give their viewers an idea about what is happening in their surroundings.
